Adaptive Solar Facade exhibited at Vitra Design Museum, Weil am Rhein

"Transform! Designing the Future of Energy" at Vitra Design Museum is opening this week on Saturday 23 March, 2024.

The exhibition shines a light on the transformation of the energy sector from the perspective of design: from everyday products that use renewable energy to the design of solar houses and wind power stations; from smart mobility systems to futuristic visions of self-sufficient cities.

For this occasion, the Vitra Design Museum invited us to present the Adaptive Solar Facade together with our colleagues at Solskin by Zurich Soft Robotics. Its delicate, movable photovoltaic modules can be mounted onto a lightweight structure on the building envelope and are suited for both restoration and new construction projects. The modules are multifunctional: Aside from energy production, they offer shading and daylight control for the interior as well as individual adjustments to the view by the occupant.
